Nature Cat
Nature Cat, (also known as Fred) is one of the four main protagonists of the PBS Kids original series Nature Cat, along with Daisy, Hal, and Squeeks. In the absence of his owners, Fred transforms into his alter-ego Nature Cat, narrating himself as such throughout the show. He is the main protagonist in leading a group of three other animals, frequently using the expressions "Tally-Ho!" and "Onward and Yonward!" when initiating and continuing his adventures, lending to his optimistic and cheerful attitude in encouraging enthusiasm for the natural world. Taran Killam appraises Nature Cat as a positive character for children, describing his handling of adversity as “A great example of when you fall down you get back right up… and try it again”. He will occasionally drop from his ‘Nature Cat’ persona where, much like a regular house cat, he can suddenly become nervous or frightened. This can include having to interact with water, lamenting “Why does it always have to be water?”, but in these situations, he ultimately ends up finding the confidence to persist.
Gwendolyn
Gwendolyn (also known as One Eared Winnie and Sister Winnie) is Nature Cat's sister. When she was a kitten, she and her brother loved playing with the cat toys Grandpa Cat made for them. After Bad Dog Bart stole the cat toys, Gwendolyn joined a group of pirates in search of the missing toys.

Now, she joins her brother and the others in a plan to stop Ronald from destroying nature. Her most well-known power is of course, giving villains concussions.
Squeeks
Squeeks is a daring, fearless nature explorer. She’s a reliable mouse who is always up for adventure. She’s a tough mouse who isn’t afraid to get dirty. She knows a lot of animals that are always eager to help out.
Hal
Hal is an overly curious, rambunctious, lovable dog. Some might think he’s not the smartest canine around, but he always comes up with the simplest solution to a problem. You might even call him a genius! He is so loyal to Nature Cat and the gang that he will do anything for them.
Daisy
Daisy is smart, cute, fun, childish, curious, and loves her friends. But unlike them, she is very prim and proper. She also likes being organized, tries to carefully think things through before jumping to conclusions, and is quick to notice details. Daisy is very smart and observant. Whatever the problem may be, she will analyze the situation and help solve it.

She is lovable but slightly bossy. Daisy can also get aggravated by her friends easily, which they do not always like, especially when she tries to take control of the team. But her biggest issue is the others causing problems. She also offers valuable lessons to the group at times.

She wonders of questions, and often weighs the options for anything and everything.
Ronald
Ronald is Nature Cat’s next-door neighbor and arch-enemy. He’s a bit of a fat lazy feline, but is always up for some competition, especially if it’s against Nature Cat. He likes to lounge in his hammock drinking lemonade or spend the afternoon at the groomers. He is also a DJ and spins at the neighborhood parties and events.
